Happy Halloween!

Time for another one of my very sporadic blog posts.  I just got back from Berlin, hopefully pictures from there to follow, but just finished working on this shot of a sweet zombie head that I bought as an impulse buy at Duane Reade.  I love halloween because there’s so many cool props to be found. Happy Halloween!

Storm King

I’ve been setting into New York pretty well, but one thing that hasn’t fit into my new schedule so well has been finding time to update my blog. I had a great day yesterday and wanted to share some pictures.

I wanted to explore outside the city a bit so I took a mini road trip upstate to the Storm King Art Center just outside of Cornwall. It’s a 500 acre space with some truly massive sculptures set amongst the rolling hills, woods and water. It’s a really beautiful space and there was a lot of wildlife, we saw beavers, deer, hawks, turtles, and a ton of little chipmunks. If you’re ever looking for something to do a bit out of the city, I totally recommend it.

Moving on up!

Apologies for not posting anything in quite a while, I’ve been wrapped up in life and haven’t had a chance to update the blog in a while. Aside from graduating from AAU, I’ve been quite busy getting all my stuff in order to move to New York City. It’s been a crazy whirlwind the last month or so, but now I’m more or less settled in NY and looking forward to what will come next for Rich Coughran Photography. 2011 is going to be a good year.

Everyone needs a little color in their life

Feeling the color this week.

Happy Holidays!

Only 10 days left until I graduate from AAU and I’m trying to wrap up a lot of things so I’m not going to have time to print a holiday card this year. Thought I’d take advantage of having to present it digitally and throw a little animation in the mix. Happy Holidays, all!

Get out your 3d glasses!

Just got a 3d positioning capable tripod head (Induro PHQ1), so I’m going to be playing around with 3d more these days. Get your glasses ready!

Deconstruction

Ever since I was a small child I’ve loved taking things apart and it’s come through in my photography a lot over the years.  Here’s more in that vein.

Honeycomb

What can I say?  Bad puns are in my blood.

You say tomato, I say tomato

Produce from Trader Joe’s can be tricky sometimes, but I’m loving the heirloom tomatoes they have right now.

CMYK

Just found out AAU ran one of my photos in their ad in the July/August issue of CMYK (the photography annual).  Next time I hope I can make it into the actual magazine. Can’t complain about free advertising though.
